INTRODUCING
An Entirely New Nota Bene Application
|
Radius can capture anything on the web, academic or personal, saving and organizing it both as structured data for access in Ibidem and as free-form text searchable by Orbis.
Nota Bene has always been at the forefront — the standard bearer — of academic computing. There are other word processors, other bibliographic database managers, other citation-capture tools, other text-retrieval programs (even if nothing like Orbis), but Nota Bene still remains the only program that delivers everything in a fully integrated package. Every Nota Bene update has raised the standards; each of the suite's enhanced modules remains focused on your specialized research needs.
And now, for the first time in a long time, an entirely new application joins Nota Bene's toolbox: Radius. Years in development, and now ready for your immediate use, Radius is quite a different beast, new, and unprecedented, something quite revolutionary for our on-line world.
| Web Clipping — Structured & Free-Form, for All Kinds of Pages
|
Unlike other web-clipping applications that scoop up contents indiscriminately, Radius uniquely combines sophisticated web-clipping capabilities with simultaneous parsing, storing, indexing, searching, and retrieving of different types of on-line data. Think of a smart web-clipping application, one without peer: in the same instant as desired web content is extracted, different types of data content embedded in the page are parsed to Radius's various types of databases where they are available as Ibidem (bibliographic or other) records and instantly searchable by popup Orbis.
And for the first time in Nota Bene's history, the lines between scholarly activities and personal interests are blurred.
Citation data and food recipes, literary explorations and travel offers, data analysis and product reviews... No matter the on-line information you seek, Radius will collect, index and present the results of data inquiries through its immediate connections with Ibidem and Orbis, while also archiving contents in multiple optimally useful formats for perpetual access even if the captured page disappears from the web.

It’s Personal

Among the many enhancements Radius brings to your academic research, a few stand out:
- Capture citations from thousands of journals
Radius captures citations from any web page with RIS download — simply click the link (in most cases, Radius even guides you as to what to click), and the record will appear immediately in your active Ibidem bibliographic database.
- Keep abreast of new scholarly publications in your field
Radius offers full capture — not just book citation data, but also table-of-contents, author information, and more — from the major portal of the book publishing industry, Edelweiss Plus, which provides thousands of new and recent titles from hundreds of publishers from around the world.
- Easily bring Zotero records into Ibidem
Records copied in Zotero are automatically added to your Ibidem database.
- Find what you want in PDFs (with Orbis +)
PDFs you download are automatically linked to the citation record and instantly searchable in popup Orbis.

Radius may make even more of a difference in the rest of your life, bringing order to all on-line searches:
- Simplify planning of your vacation
Capture and compile lodging options — hotels, Airbnb, VRBO — in one place, where they can be easily revisited (even if you closed the tab!). Or capture information about travel options, must-see sites, or events worth attending.
- Or identify that proverbial kitchen sink
You need to replace the kitchen sink, and you found something interesting, but now you cannot remember where. Frustration avoided the next time with Radius — a simple browser click, and it's there (along with everything else you found) whenever you need it, making that renovation possible.
- Cook up a storm without being stressed
If you like to cook from on-line recipes, Radius is the perfect ingredient.
- Keep tabs on the cultural or political zeitgeist
News stories, opinion pieces, blogs, comments — if something is worth reading (now or later), Radius can preserve it for you.

| An Incomparable New Tool Optimizes Your On-Line Experience

Radius testers over the last few years tell us that there's really nothing quite like it. Programs like Evernote and OneNote offer some of the same web-capture options, but only Radius offers sophisticated academic and research-enhancing data parsing of captured content while enabling capture of anything else of personal interest. Radius is more flexible, more powerful, uniquely adept at organizing the ordinary while remaining committed to academic needs. And it costs less. What's not to like?
Check out the real-life impact that Radius will have on your on-line activities.

Radius: A Comparison
Radius: Capture Different Kinds of Data
Radius is available to Nota Bene 14 users for $99. When you purchase Radius, you will get an NB 14 product key that gives you access to Radius. Radius is different from other add-on NB modules — it is an entirely new program, and not merely an extension of other NB features. And unlike some stand-alone web clipping applications (which don't handle academic research sites fully in any case), Radius is fully integrated with Nota Bene. In addition, Radius is both cheaper (less than $100), and does not require an annual subscription (there is no expiration/renewal date).
